The Lebanese Transparency Association (LTA), in cooperation with the Leadership for Sustainable Development (LSD), organized a dialogue on the “Right to Access to Information Law” within the framework of the Project for Enhancing Transparency in the Oil and Gas Sector at the Burj on Bay Hotel in Tabarja – Keserwan.

The President of LSD, Michel Daccache, introduced the NGO and its objectives within the field. In his turn, the Executive Director of the Lebanese Transparency Association, Julian Courson, presented a definition of the role of the Association in this area and in promoting transparency and enforcing the law of this sector.

Dr. Issa explained in details the law of the right to access information, especially in the oil and gas sector. He provided the necessary and basic information about the beneficiaries of the law and how to apply it on the ground, clarifying the fields available to those wishing to access the information and obtain a copy from the relevant authorities.

Afterward, a discussion session was held on the law and how to apply it in daily life to benefit from it according to its specialization, field of study and work.

In the second part of the meeting, Courson’s speech was an explanation of the law of transparency in the gas sector, shedding light on the provisions of the law in terms of rights and obligations, in addition, to identify the responsible and beneficiary of this law.
